YOGA FOR PERIMENOPAUSE, MENOPAUSE + BEYOND


A 4 week online course for women in perimenopause, menopause or post menopause.  A dedicated time for yourself for deep listening, releasing tension + tightness and tuning-in to your feminine creativity.

The stages of menopause are normal phases of a woman's journey, entering a new stage of life and becoming a wise woman.    There is much change going on within – physical changes, mood and emotional shifts and we are often required to change something externally as well as within.  Modern life tends to  ask too much of us and when we reach perimenopause, we are often unknowingly depleted and over-stressed which is why many of us struggle during the phases of Menopause.  


This is a space to explore what this means for you personally (this is not a sharing circle, although you may if you wish), but a place for your own private exploration and deep inner work.  Often the symptoms women experience are the body's innate intelligence red-flagging that something needs attention.   We often react by "doing" and in fact what we increasingly need at this time is less doing and more surrendering and deep listening.  Then we can allow our adrenals to recover, calm the nervous system, become more balanced and find ourselves in a much clearer place to act accordingly if that's what's required.  When we turn our awareness inward, we refine the understanding of ourselves and our needs.  This practice is a space for you to be with yourself and go deeper into the wisdom of the body.


During the course of the 4 weeks, we will include:


> A mix of gentle and yin-style yoga (gentle postures held for a few minutes each)

> Breathing techniques

> Guided journalling for Self enquiry and to track moods + insights

> Yoga nidra with Sankalpa (profound restful practice with intention)

 


This course is designed to:

  • Nourish the endocrine system to help balance hormones
  • Alleviate symptoms associated with perimenopause, menopause/post menopause: hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, skin complaints, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, depression, digestive discomfort, anger/frustration, joint pain, back ache.
  • Reduce Pitta and Vata doshas (Ayurvedic terms, to balance the fire/water and air/ether elements that naturally increase during menopause).
  • Relax the nervous system
  • Reduce the stress hormone, Cortisol
  • Allow time to identify and reflect on;
    • areas of your life that need attention
    • where you might be "stuck"
  • Release unconscious mind blockages that may be keeping you in an unhealthy or unhelpful pattern of behaviour
  • Restore balance holistically
  • Release tension/pain in the body – hips, neck, back, shoulders, knees
  • Accumulate gratitude for your body and life as it is now
  • Deepen the relationship with yourself

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:  We will sometimes use props.  If you don't have them, don't worry - there are plenty of alternatives in your home that you can use instead:
