Yoga 

I began teaching yoga almost 20 years ago.  My yoga teaching style is an integration of extensive studies of hatha yoga.  I emphasise the importance of the breath, opening the heart and working where you are.  For me yoga is very much about meeting yourself where you are, allowing ourselves space to listen into the wisdom of the body and essentially moving beyond the mind to experience ourselves as a whole being.


My classes may include breathing techniques (pranayama), postures (asana), meditation (dhyana) and profound guided relaxation (yoga nidra; a form of pratyahara). All weaved together with my professional knowledge of Ayurveda (a sister science of yoga) and creative cues to ignite your inner wisdom and embody the divine being that you are!



Background

My inner awakening began with meditation in my homeland of the Isle of Man (Brahma Kumaris/Dadi Janki). Travels to India brought me into a new relationship with myself as I explored deeply the ancient practice of Hatha Yoga. I practiced and studied with inspirational teachers, lived and worked at the Sivananda Ashram, Kerala and went on to study with Sivananda School of Vedanta in the Bahamas where I gained my teaching qualification (certified Yoga Alliance Teacher). My devotion to the practice brought profound experiences...showing me that we are way more than we think we are! Catching these glimpses of self realisation sent me on a path of deep healing and I knew I was meant to share the teachings that I'd been so honoured to receive and continue to learn.

I completed further studies with the master teacher, Yogarupa, Rod Stryker, a student of Pandit Rajmani Tigunait PhD and a teacher in the lineage of the great Sri Swami Rama of the Himalayas. In 2010 I lived in Bali, Indonesia where I completed advanced teacher training with Radiantly Alive and worked as a teacher with Vibrant Living Yoga.  I currently teach in London, UK.
